We Love Our Story
Built in 1969 and originally known as The Rose-Linn campground, our storied heritage provides for a rich history in service to campers.
From the moment they stepped foot onto this property, they fell in love. Our family, William (more commonly known as Bill) and Jeanine Hansen began their journey here in 1985. At that time, the campground went under the name, “Buffalo Run.” In 1991, Bill and Jeanine took a leap of faith and assumed responsibility of the business. Finally, Rainbow Springs Family Campground was born. And our story truly began…
For 3 generations now, our family has been faithfully serving at this wonderful establishment. Each member provides a unique set of skills in order to further our business to its greatest potential. We love this campground, it’s our home and we are blessed to be able to share it with any campers who venture down our drive. Hopefully Sunset Springs will be just as much of a blessing to you.

Fun Fact: Our campground holds one of the first frisbee golf courses ever built in Ohio. The original course was built on Bill and Jeanine’s property and in later years moved to the campground where it now remains.
Fun Fact: Sunset Springs sits on 60 acres of land and has a total of 250 camping sites

In Loving Memory
William (Bill) Hansen
1940-2020
Born and raised on the family dairy farm located in Bellevue, Ohio, Bill was a “jack of all trades”. He earned his degree in agricultural engineering at the Ohio State University and went on to become a corn seed salesman. This led into the start-up of his first business, “Superior Seed.” In 1985, he began helping out at the campground then known as “Buffalo Run”. A couple years later, he was in the position to purchase the camp. As the famous saying goes….”the rest is history!” He worked hard to please everyone, was a friend to all and rarely took a day off. When he did get away, he enjoyed going to auctions, fairs, and out to eat. He is missed by many and will never be forgotten by those who had the chance to know him.
